MEET OUR FOUNDER

Jessica Marati Radparvar

Hey there, I’m Jess. I’m the founder and lead impact strategist here at Reconsidered.

At my core, I’m passionate about making positive change happen.

Over the years, I have come to believe that we need to go beyond articulating the business case to change minds about social and environmental issues. We also need to build an emotional case, to facilitate the β€œaha” moments that can shift hearts and lead to real, lasting, sustainable change. Strong communications and community building play a role in this, but so do the emerging science of behavior change and a strong understanding of what makes change "stick".

This is why I launched Reconsidered in the summer of 2017, and it is the driving force behind our work with future-focused organizations like Etsy, EILEEN FISHER, Mailchimp, Sir Kensington's (Unilever), C&A, Tommy Hilfiger (PVH), BESTSELLER, JACK & JONES, J.Crew, Cult Beauty (THG), Naadam, Fashion for Good, Textile Exchange, Alliance for Water Stewardship and the UN Development Programme. My experience is centered in impact strategy development, sustainability communications, stakeholder engagement, impact measurement, and ESG reporting with a particular focus on corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability and human rights.

Over the past decade, I have approached the impact space from a number of different perspectives β€” as a journalist, as an entrepreneur, as an academic, in-house at a Fortune 300 company and now as a consultant. I spent several years managing corporate responsibility communications and stakeholder engagement at PVH Corp. and previously founded a social enterprise selling artisan goods made in Cambodia; led Content and Community at Quirky, an open innovation platform for invention ideas; and worked as a freelance consultant and travel writer.

I draw inspiration and motivation from my Native CHamoru and Italian roots; my upbringing in Guam, San Francisco and Rome and my travels to over 60 countries. I have an undergraduate degree in History from Princeton University and received my M.B.A. from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Location-independent, I split my time between Amsterdam, Guam and Southern California together with my husband Dave and my son Shilo.
