NOW HIRING

Freelance Sustainability Communications Strategist & Project Manager

Part-Time / Contract / Flexible / Remote / 10-20 hours per week

WHO WE ARE

At Reconsidered, we are on a mission to help sustainable business leaders drive bigger, bolder, more sustainable change. Our boutique consulting practice specializes in helping organizations strategically embed and meaningfully communicate their impact, with projects at the intersection of sustainability strategy, communications and community.

We are looking for a talented Freelance Sustainability Communications Strategist & Project Manager to support our exciting portfolio of consulting projects. Our new colleague will serve as right-hand support to our founder and be responsible for setting up, supporting and smoothly managing projects from start to finish, working hands-on with global, cross-disciplinary teams of independent consultants and creatives. The role is ideal for someone early in their impact career, or making a career transition with transferable skills.

Our ideal candidate can commit 10-20 hours/week, with flexibility based on project demands. While the role is fully remote, it will require time zone alignment with our Amsterdam-based founder as well as clients and consultants across North America and Europe, particularly between the hours of 2-6pm CET.

WHO YOU ARE

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Meticulous and highly organized, with strong attention to detail. You LOVE organization, efficiency and precision. You strive for all work you produce or manage to be completed to the highest possible standard. You have a hawk’s eye for spotting typos, a missing comma or slightly-off formatting and are determined to keep errors to an absolute minimum. You take pride in handing over work to clients that is the very best it can be, within the time given.

  • Great at navigating large and sometimes complex projects. You can confidently set up, manage and wrap up large projects with multiple stakeholders. You understand that project work is inherently dynamic, so you are adaptable and can flexibly respond to change. You are comfortable being the first point of contact for clients and can happily keep multiple projects running smoothly, ensuring all deadlines are met and that everyone comes away satisfied with the end results.

  • An excellent communicator, with a strong appreciation for aesthetics. You are a native English speaker with stellar written and verbal communication skills. You are skilled at creating clear, design-forward presentation slides and would feel confident contributing to copywriting for strategy documents, reports, content briefs and other materials.

  • A people person. You are a delight to work with and have a knack for creating a vibe that is professional, but still human and fun. You strive to make any meetings and touchpoints bright spots in the days of the people we work with. You are compassionate and accommodating, and value taking good care of the people around you.

  • Resourceful, with a bias toward action. You love approaching challenges with a “how might we?” attitude and pride yourself on your resourcefulness. You move quickly and decisively. You are thoughtful about your work, yet know when it’s time to switch gears from ideation into execution. You’re a bit of an efficiency geek and are actively curious about the power of AI to (ethically, responsibly) support our work.

  • Familiar with the areas of sustainable business and social impact. You don’t necessarily need formal training in corporate social responsibility, sustainability or social impact for this role, but you should have a keen interest in these topics, soaking up as much content about them as you can. You care about the future of our planet and its people, and would love to be part of an organization that is working towards making a real change in the world.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for clients, managing all client communications, setting up meetings and coordinating all deliverable hand-offs.

  • Manage the overall project’s progress and ensure everything runs smoothly by keeping a close eye on project milestones, updating project plans, managing team availability and keeping spirits high.

  • Build out aesthetically pleasing presentation and meeting decks which effectively convey key messages in a clear, visual way.

  • Support on copywriting, research, competitive benchmarking, stakeholder interviews, first content drafts, design briefs and whatever else the project might entail.

  • Occasionally lend a hand with other tasks needed to get the job done. (We’re a start-up, after all!)

SALARY TRANSPARENCY

The hourly rate for this role ranges from €30-€40 per hour, depending on experience — a range that is competitive within the Netherlands, where we’re based. While we recognize that salary expectations can vary across regions, we want to be upfront about compensation so that you have clear expectations from the start.

INCLUSIVE HIRING

We know that we are a stronger team and better able to come up with boundary-pushing ideas when our team represents a range of diverse perspectives and life experiences. We value and respect all types of diversity including, but not limited to, ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion and abilities. We especially encourage candidates from these backgrounds to apply and invite you to share these aspects of your background in your application.
