A Note From Jess

For me, working independently hasn’t just been a career move. It’s been a profoundly fulfilling journey of both professional and personal development.

It’s forced me to define my voice, my value and my vision, often long before I felt “ready.” It’s asked me to have awkward conversations about pricing, say no to misaligned work, put myself out there in scary ways and regularly stretch beyond my comfort zone. It’s been a creative process as much as a business one.

Nine years ago, when I founded Reconsidered, I assumed my NYU Stern MBA and experience in tech startups would guide me. It helped — but only so far. 

Traditional business training didn’t teach me how to build a practice that reflected my values, honored my energy or supported the life I wanted. I realized quickly that I didn’t want to create an old-school agency and risk waking up in 10 years trapped in a prison of my own making. I wanted a business that could flex as I raised kids, navigated life across borders and explored creative, community-focused work. That meant learning — slowly, sometimes painfully — how to articulate my value, attract the right clients and build systems that felt sustainable.

6 Live Zoom Workshops, Held Bi-Weekly
We’ll come together every other Wednesday at 4pm CET / 10am ET / 7am PT for focused one-hour sessions, with two weeks of integration and application time in between.

Optional Office Hours & Additional Networking
In addition to the main sessions, you’re welcome to join optional office hours, networking gatherings and peer review sessions for support, feedback and real-time problem-solving.

You’ve Got Questions, We’ve Got Answers

  • Not at all. This program is designed for both new(ish) independents and seasoned consultants who are ready to reposition, refresh or bring more intention to their practice. If you’re serious about clarifying your niche, strengthening your messaging and building aligned systems for finding and selling work, you’ll fit right in.

  • You’re welcome here. Many participants are exploring independent work while holding a full-time role or navigating a career transition. The program offers structure and clarity whether you're already independent, building up your practice or considering the leap.

  • Live sessions are 60 minutes every other week, with optional office hours on the in-between weeks. To get the most out of the program, you should plan to spend an additional 1-3 hours  between sessions doing the homework and applying the frameworks to your own business. With bi-weekly sessions, the program is intentionally designed to be spacious, even alongside client work and/or caregiving.

  • The content portion of each session will be recorded and shared with the group within 48 hours, though the private group sharing sessions will not. The optional office hours between sessions offer another opportunity to catch up, ask questions and stay on track. We know that life happens, so we’ve built the program with flexibility in mind.

  • If you select the mentorship upgrade, you’ll receive four one-hour 1:1 sessions with Jess for personalized guidance, deeper clarity and hands-on review of your messaging, offers and business development systems. This tier is ideal for anyone craving tailored feedback and more individualized accountability and momentum.

  • It’s completely normal to feel unsure about investing in yourself or your business, especially in the early stages of independent work. Comparable programs and masterminds often cost tens of thousands of dollars, and we’ve intentionally priced this program to be far more accessible while still reflecting the depth and experience we bring.

    Because this is our first time running the program, this introductory pricing is the lowest it will ever be, and we won’t be offering additional discounts. If the investment still feels like a stretch, reach out. We’re happy to explore payment plans to make it more workable.

  • Because this is a small-group, high-touch program, each spot represents a real commitment. If something unexpected comes up before the program begins and you let us know within 7 days of the start date, we’ll work with you to defer your enrollment to a future cohort or find a solution that feels fair to everyone.

    If you cancel your participation less than 7 days before the start date, or you attend the first session and decide it’s not the right fit, we offer an 80% refund as long as you let us know within 48 hours of that first session. After that window, refunds aren’t available.
